LBP locksmith Brighton was called to a property in the Hollingdean area of Brighton.
A section of the key had snapped off in a mortice sash lock. We opened the lock non-destructively and proceeded to investigate why this happened and if the lock was repairable.
Our findings were that the door was slightly warped and out of alignment, putting a strain on the inside workings of the lock and the key when used to lock or unlock the door.
LBP adjusted the strike plate in the door frame to compensate for the change. We also extracted the broken key, disassembled the lock, cleaned all components, reassembled the lock and got it working perfectly.
